5 Self Improvement Tips

Life is not easy, and I suppose it probably wasn’t meant to be, but just because it isn’t easy doesn’t mean we can’t make it better.

Listed below are 5 self improvement tips to make your life better and hopefully easier.

Tip #1 – Eat Breakfast

Now this may sound silly, but it is very important. Breakfast is the first meal of the day and it starts your day off properly.

Our bodies need nutrients to function properly and if we don’t give it any, how can it run at all. I know when I skip breakfast, I can always tell a couple hours later. I am grumpy and not performing up to par.

Tip #2 – Smile More

Again this might sound a little silly, but I am very serious. Think about how often you even make eye contact with people on the street, probably very little. But I have tried this one myself, by looking at a person and smiling you make them feel better and most of the time, they will smile back, making you feel better. This will not lift your spirits, but theirs as well.

Tip #3 – Try Something That is Uncomfortable for You

Now this one is hard to do, but you will be amazed by how good you will feel when you make yourself do it. For example, you are not comfortable going to a gym because you feel fat or you feel like everyone is looking at you. Make yourself go one day and then go again, before you know it you will realize you feel more confident and you will feel better physically.

Tip #4 – Goals are good, but…..

Goals are great to have and I believe everyone should have some, but we also have to be careful not to get too focused on them. You don’t want to live day-to-day worried about how close we are to one goal or totally give up on another one because it is taking forever.

Then you end up depressed because you gave up. So limit yourself to a couple short term goals, a couple long term ones, and don’t worry about the rest right now. If you want feel better about yourself you need to be realistic too.

Tip #5 – Learn a Language

This tip may sound crazy, but it really isn’t. Part of life is learning, learning about ourselves, others, and other cultures. Learning another language will teach about another culture and help you learn more about the English language. So not only will you learn more about your own culture, you may learn enough to want to go visit another country. And that is all self improvement.
