7 Easy Self Improvement Tips
Sometimes it is hard to get yourself out of a rut, or some days you just wonder, how can I improve myself, my
life, and at one time or another most us wonder how can I improve myself to make my life better, happier?
Below are 7 easy self-improvement tips you can incorporate
into your life today:
1. Some things you just can’t change
If you are overweight and don’t like that, you can change something in your life, like your diet, to change that
But sometimes you can’t change what is happening in life. And in that case you need to accept and figure how to
deal with it. Dwelling on things you cannot change, fixes nothing. So, why waste the energy being depressed?
2. Break the cycle
We all tend to find our favorites in life, our favorite: ice cream, place to eat, type of car to buy, etc… Part
of this tip is realizing there is so much more out there. Break your cycle of always eating at the same restaurant
and the next time you go out, try a different place. You never know, you may find food you like better.
3. Procrastinating gets you nowhere
It is a skill all of us struggle with at one time or another. By getting done what needs to be done, when it
needs to be done, you will save yourself a lot of unnecessary stress. It is easy enough to say, “Oh I will get that
done later.” But when later comes and you have 5 other things to do that you put off, something is not going to get
done. This creates stress and keeps you from improving yourself.
4. Make a list
One way to make your day productive and thus improving yourself is to make a list, the night before, of all the
things you need to get done the next day. Not only does that list help you stay on task, but it also feels great
when you get to cross something off your list.
This is tough for some people, but it is very important. When you are angry with someone, you are holding onto
negative feelings and those can only harm you. If you truly want to improve yourself then you need to forgive and
forget and let those feelings go. Check out this article on how to stamp out negative thoughts.
6. Eat breakfast
Now this one might sound silly, but many people do not eat breakfast and that can start your day off on the
wrong foot. Breakfast gives you the energy your body needs to be productive. I notice if I skip breakfast, I get
grumpy and I don’t feel like doing much. So, eat breakfast, feel good, and get headed in the right direction first
thing in the morning.
7. Do something nice for someone
By making another person feel good will make you feel amazing. My husband bought me flowers the other day, just
because. He made me feel good, and by because I felt good, it made his day, which made him feel good.
The different things you can do on any given day to improve yourself is endless, but the 7 tips listed above are
a great start to get you on the path to self-improvement.
