The human brain is wondrous, complex and very unique. There is nothing else like it out there in the world. Even the most advanced machine is no match for our brains.

That also means it is not the easiest task in the world to improve our brain, and more specifically, to improve our memory.

And if you are like most of us we are always looking for ways to better our memories. Well then you are reading the right article.

The purpose of this article is to show you different ways to better your memory, which can be done, no matter how old you are.

One of the most important ways is to get enough sleep. When you are running on less than a full night’s sleep your brain cannot function at its fullest capacity which means you are not running on “a full tank”.

Another important piece is exercise! When you exercise your body, you are also exercising your mind by increasing the oxygen getting to your brain.

A third way is to make time for some fun. Work is important and good for our brains as it is challenging, but fun is equally important. You see humans are naturally social. We thrive on social contact, so by just interacting with some friends you are boosting your memory, by stimulating your brain.

Along the same lines, laughter is great for your brain. Laugh at yourself, laugh with friends, and surround yourself with people who don’t take themselves too seriously. Oh and for some full-proof laughter, hang out with kids.

They have zero inhibitions and to them everything is hilarious! What is so great about laughter is that it engages several areas of the brain at once, which is the goal, to engage your brain, thus improving your memory.

Another memory tip is to remember, less stress is best. Long term stress can not only depress you, but also kill important brain cells, and damage the part of the brain that is involved in the formation of the new memories and retrieval of the old ones. Just like anything else in life, the more you do something, the easier it is. So, give your brain a workout. In order for your brain to develop and grow you have to challenge it once in a while, but make sure it is something new, challenging and fun. That will give your brain the best exercise.

Although there are others, the last one that we are going to look at is specific tips to learn and remember: pay attention, use all 5 senses if you can, tie new information to old information if you can, break complex ideas into smaller more basic ideas, and review new information the same day you learn it.

In order to better your memory you can do certain things that will exercise your brain at any age. If you don’t ever let your brain get lazy, and you continuously challenge it, you will continue to improve your memory for many years!
