How to Develop Your Intuition

When we try to describe what our intuition is to someone it is not easy. Intuition is sometimes referred to as your “gut feeling” and really that is the best way to describe it, as a feeling.

And just like any other feeling it is difficult to describe, difficult to control and even more difficult to understand.

But I also can tell you that it is the connection between your subconscious and your consciousness. It is the subconscious telling your conscious brain what is the more right path to take.

So, knowing your intuition’s job is to give you the “right answer” it only makes sense to want to know how to develop your intuition and boost your memory.

One way to do that is to learn how to quiet your mind and listen. In order to do that though you have to learn how to separate the random thoughts from the ones you want to pay attention to.

And the best way to quiet you mind is to find a quiet place, close your eyes, take slow, deep, even breaths, and allow the thoughts to come, and dealing with them one at a time and deciding to let that thought go or examine it some more and see what it has to offer.

Another way is to trust those gut feelings or hunches you get. If something really doesn’t feel right, then it probably isn’t. And how many times have you listened to that feeling and realized later that it saved you from a speeding ticket or kept you from ending up in the middle of an accident? It is hard to trust it and pay attention to it, but if you are open to it and allow it to develop you will be surprised how often it “speaks up”.

The next thing to do is to be aware and pay attention to what is going on around you. The more you absorb from the outside world, the more your intuition has to work with when you do need to make a decision.

And since your subconscious can process way more information than your consciousness can, allow your subconscious to do just that. Allow it to take all sorts of information and pass it back through your intuition, but you have to pay attention and listen.

The last technique we are going to go over in this article is utilizing your subconscious while you sleep. If there were issues throughout the day that you never did find the answer to, go back over them before you go to sleep and think through your options or possible outcomes.

This will trigger your subconscious to work throughout the night creating solutions and you may even get some of those answers in the middle of the night so keep paper and pen handy so you can write the answers down before you forget them.

Learning how to develop your intuition is like any other skill, it requires practice. And the more you practice the better you will get at doing it and the more open you will be to your intuition and what it has to offer.
