How to Stay Motivated in Difficult Times

Life is not easy and at some point in your life you are going to encounter difficult times. How you handle each difficult time in your life will help or hurt how you handle the next difficult situation.

If you can find a way to stay motivated and positive this time, then the next time will be easier to handle.

So this article is all about how to stay motivated in difficult times.

One great way to stay motivated is to create a list of goals that will help you stay focused and motivated. The difference between goals that you give yourself day to day and goals you set for yourself during difficult times is that you create goals that are more easily attainable during difficult times.

For example, if you are sick and can’t work for long periods of time, don’t try to work an 8 hour day. Work for an hour, and then take a break, and work another hour later in the day.

Another way to stay motivated in difficult times is to remember you are only human. If you push yourself past your limits or try to do it all by yourself, you will surely burn out. And that does no one any good. In order to lower your stress level you might have to cut back a bit or ask for help.

Keeping a positive attitude is also very important. Try starting your days off with positive thoughts. Before you even get out of bed, tell yourself, “Today is going to be a great day!” Carry that with you to the breakfast table. While you are eating, remind yourself, and anyone who eats with you, “Today is going to be a great day.”

So, what else can you do? You can also go looking for inspiration. Go find and read about someone else’s success story. Just knowing someone else out there is being successful can help you in two ways.

The first way shows you it is being done by someone else, which means it can be done and you can do it too. The second way is by reading about something positive your thoughts will be put in the right frame of mind. If your thoughts are positive, your attitude is positive and that carries into everything else you do.

My final tip for staying motivated is to plan ahead. Everyone, at some point goes through difficult times. So plan ahead by having at least 3 months income saved to help lessen the stress during difficult times. It is also a good idea to have people around you who are supportive, so when those difficult times come along you have a support system you can lean on.

Staying motivated during difficult times is not easy, but if you follow the tips I have covered in this article, you have a great shot at staying motivated and reaching your goals even though things aren’t perfect all the time.

So remember, set goals for yourself, don’t push too hard, stay positive, look for inspiration and always plan ahead.
