How to Develop Positive Thoughts

Some days just stink. We all have them and they usually end and go away. But when they don’t, we need to have some tools in our belts to pull out to fix the problem.

And when you have days of feeling low you need to have ways to bring yourself back up again. This article will be about how to develop positive thoughts.

The first way to develop positive thoughts is to focus on the positive things in your life. And they don’t have to be the most amazing things ever.

You need to sit down with a pen and paper or your lap top and start a list. List everything and anything that you can that is positive in your life and make sure you state it in a positive format.

For example: I am grateful that I have a roof over my head. I am so blessed that my sons thinks I am the world. It made my day yesterday that I found a close parking spot, because it was pouring. I have a job, thank you.

Another way is to take your energy and double it by making positive. If you are negative then you are sending negative energy out into the world, and what will come back to you? Yep, you got it, negative energy.

So you now receive a double dose, the negative energy you already have, plus the energy that comes back your way. So why not make all of that positive energy? By taking the energy you have and making it positive energy that is what goes out and then it is also what comes back, equaling double the positive energy.

The next way is to be outwardly positive which will help the inside come around. Let me explain what I mean, when you don’t feel great, or are bummed out you tend to slump when you are standing or sitting.

You won’t be smiling, and your language/tone will be affected. Just by sitting up straight, smiling, yep even a fake one, and changing your tone will all help tell your brain you want to feel better. And yes you will little by little start to feel better, eventually going from being in a negative bad mood, to a positive happier mood.

The fourth way is to dole out some positive compliments to peers, co-workers, family, or friends. It doesn’t really matter who, because simply by saying something that makes another person feel good, will make you feel better. Try it for a couple days, and see how great you feel about making someone else feel good.

Life is challenge after challenge and in order to keep getting up from those challenges you need to need to know how to develop positive thoughts. You need to first think about all the good and positive things in your life, then you need to put out positive energy to get positive energy coming back your way, next is to be outwardly positive helping make the inside more positive and the last way is to give positive compliments, it makes the person feel better, in turn making you feel better.
