Ways to Raise Your Self-Esteem

Have you ever gotten to the end of the week and felt like you accomplished nothing, what you did try to accomplish ended up being a total disaster, and all you feel like at that moment is failure?

I am pretty sure we have all had those kinds of weeks at one time or another. The problem is when you have several of those weeks in a row.

The result of a few bad weeks can be a real hit to your self-esteem. You start to feel like the world is against you or that you are the reason bad things keep happening to you.

This article is going to show you how to raise your self-esteem back up again.

The beauty of a higher level of self-esteem is that you will feel better, have more energy and just be happier in general. So, let’s take a look at some different ways to raise your self-esteem.

One way is to always keep your commitments, particularly to yourself. If you tell yourself you are going to get up in the morning to run, then you need to follow through on that and get up and run.

You need to show yourself that you are worth the commitments you make to yourself. Same goes if you make a commitment to someone else. You will feel so good after following through on both of those. And if you don’t, you will end up beating up on yourself, thus pushing your self-esteem farther into the hole.

Another way it to exercise daily, but you already know that you should do exercise. But how does this tie into self-esteem? It does a couple things, one it shows you that you care about your body and exercising releases all sorts of amazing chemicals that will naturally boost your mood, thus raising your self-esteem.

A third way is to remember what your purpose is and act on it. You are a unique individual and have been put on earth for some kind of purpose. You need to remember what it is and then do something that aligns with that purpose. For example, I am here to write, and after not writing for many years, after writing my first article I felt great for days.

The next way is to learn something new as often as you can. Part of our purpose on earth is to grow as humans. And one great way to do that is to learn about something you know nothing about or learn more about a subject you are already well versed in.

We can’t help but naturally feel better anytime we learn something new, because we remind ourselves that we are capable. I mean think about it a moment, your brain is like a muscle so you have to continuously “exercise” it to keep it in shape and healthy.

We all have times in our lives when our self-esteem struggles. Use the different ways outlined above to help yourself raise your self-esteem back up to where it belongs. And maybe you can take it past your “regular levels” and take it to heights so you feel really awesome about yourself.
